We offer flexible fee structures and payment terms to accommodate the needs of our clients. Our aim is to ensure transparency and fairness while delivering high-quality architectural services - here is an overview.

  • At iB Architects, we provide flexible fee structures and payment terms to cater to our clients' needs. Transparency, fairness, and delivering high-quality architectural services are our priorities. Here is an overview of our fee structures and payment terms:

    Fee Structures:
We offer two primary fee structures: fixed fee and percentage-based fee, depending on the project's scope, complexity, and client preferences.

Fixed Fee: Smaller or well-defined projects usually have a fixed fee. This fee is determined after understanding the project requirements, including design, documentation, and project management. With a fixed fee, clients have clarity and predictability, avoiding unexpected cost escalations during the project.

Percentage-based Fee: For larger and complex projects, a percentage-based fee is proposed. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the total construction cost. The specific percentage varies based on project scale, complexity, and our level of involvement. This fee structure ensures that the fee adjusts proportionally as the project budget changes.

    Payment Terms:
We understand that clients have different financial capacities and preferences. To ensure convenience and a smooth working relationship, we offer flexible payment terms:

Lump Sum Payments: For fixed fee projects, the fee is divided into several instalments tied to project milestones. Payments are made when reaching significant stages such as concept design, design development, and construction documentation.

Progress Payments: Percentage-based fee projects follow a progress payment schedule. Payments are made based on the completed work percentage at various project milestones. This aligns payments with project progress.

Retainer Fee: In some cases, we request a retainer fee upfront before starting work. This fee demonstrates the client's commitment and covers initial project costs.

Our fee structures and payment terms are customisable based on project requirements and client preferences. We prioritise open communication and work closely with clients to establish a fee structure and payment plan that aligns with their specific needs and budget.

Please note that this information serves as a general guideline, and we encourage clients to engage in detailed discussions with our team to finalise the specific fee structure and payment terms for their projects.

  • At iB Architects, we understand that each project has unique requirements, scopes, and complexities. That is why we offer a variety of fee structures to provide flexibility in our pricing. Here is an overview of the fee structures we offer:

Hourly Rate: For services or project phases where the scope of work is not clearly defined, we offer an hourly rate fee structure. This flexible billing approach is suitable for consultations, feasibility studies, or specialised tasks that fall outside the scope of larger projects. It allows for customised billing based on the time spent on specific services.

Fixed Fee: For smaller-scale projects or those with a well-defined scope, we recommend a fixed fee structure. This fee is determined after thoroughly understanding the project requirements, including design, documentation, and project management. By providing a fixed fee, we offer clarity and predictability, ensuring that clients have a clear understanding of the total cost from the beginning, reducing the risk of unexpected cost overruns.

Percentage of Project Cost: For larger and more complex projects, we propose a fee structure based on a percentage of the project cost. The specific percentage is determined by factors such as project scale, complexity, and the level of involvement required from our team. This fee structure aligns our compensation with the overall project value, which is particularly useful when project budgets may fluctuate during the project.

It is important to note that the choice of fee structure is determined through transparent discussions with our clients. We consider project requirements, client preferences, and the most suitable fee arrangement to ensure a fair and mutually beneficial agreement.

At iB Architects, we prioritise delivering high-quality architectural services while maintaining transparency and fairness in our fee structures. Our experienced team will closely collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and provide a fee structure that aligns with their project requirements and budget.

We understand the importance of maximising value while minimising environmental impact. Here are some cost-saving strategies and sustainable design options we recommend:

Energy Efficiency: Designing energy-efficient buildings significantly reduces long-term operational costs. We incorporate passive design strategies, such as optimising natural lighting, passive cooling techniques, and efficient insulation, to minimise energy consumption and lower utility bills.

Material Selection: We recommend sustainable and locally sourced materials that have multiple benefits. Choosing materials with low embodied energy, recycled content, and those promoting indoor air quality improves sustainability. Additionally, selecting locally available materials reduces transportation costs and supports the local economy.

Lifecycle Cost Analysis: By conducting a lifecycle cost analysis, we can assist in the evaluation of the long-term costs of a building, including maintenance, operation, and replacement. This analysis allows us to identify cost-effective design decisions that provide significant long-term savings.

Water Efficiency: Implementing water-efficient fixtures, rainwater harvesting systems, and efficient irrigation methods reduces water consumption and associated costs. Incorporating water-efficient landscaping strategies, such as native plants and drought-tolerant species, further enhances sustainability and cost savings.

Daylighting and Natural Ventilation: Designing spaces that maximize natural light and allow for natural ventilation reduces the need for artificial lighting and mechanical systems. This leads to significant energy savings, improved occupant comfort, and enhanced well-being.

Renewable Energy Integration: We explore opportunities to integrate renewable energy systems like solar panels, wind turbines, or geothermal systems. These clean energy sources help offset operational costs and reduce reliance on traditional energy sources, leading to long-term savings.

Adaptive Reuse and Renovation: Whenever feasible, we encourage adaptive reuse of existing structures or renovation of spaces. This approach reduces construction costs, preserves historical value, and minimises the environmental impact associated with new construction.

Building Information Modelling (BIM): Utilising BIM technology optimises design decisions, identifies clashes or inefficiencies early on, and reduces construction costs. It enhances coordination among stakeholders, streamlines processes, and minimizes errors, resulting in cost savings.

At iB Architects, we are dedicated to exploring innovative and sustainable design strategies that align with our clients' goals and budget. By integrating these cost-saving and sustainable design options, we aim to create buildings that are efficient, environmentally responsible, and economically beneficial overall.
